Halloween!!!!!

Ok, I know Halloween was like 2 weeks ago, but I have been really busy and haven't been able to keep up on my blogging. I am so SORRY!

I couldn't wait for Halloween weekend to get here because I had the best costume ever and I was so excited to put it on and wear it out! I was RAINBOW BRITE, hopefully everyone remember who she was?!?! Anyways, my sister and I had several places we needed to go in our costumes! My sister dressed up as a Pirate Wench, it was a very HOT costume, but also very expensive! We first made our way out to Norwalk Furniture for the Annual costume party that is held out in the pavilion. It was a bit chilly that night, but at least they had heaters going in the building to keep it somewhat warm! Some of the costumes at the party were really great ideas! My good friend, Marissa Hipp, dressed up as "Flavor FLAV" it was so funny, and she played the part very well! After freezing my tush off for about an hour I was ready to go and get to the next party! We went to Amy and Chad's house for their halloween party...I think we got there a little to late because everyone was drunk by the time we showed up. But it is always fun to hang out with all our friends!

Shortly after Amy and Chad's, we all decided to head to the OB(Office Bar) for their costume contest, which I am proud to say that I WON!!!!! YAY for me....I won 2 Cavs tickets (including free food and drinks) with a parking pass! The OB was completely packed, you couldn't move around at all.

We then headed down to Rupp's Place, it was also packed with people, some dressed up and some not dressed up. A Gorilla kept coming around and messing with me and I was like what the heck....but nobody knew who it was?!? He jumped up on the bar and was making gorilla noises and the bartenders and bouncers couldn't believe what was going on...but nobody was throwing him out? After a while, we hear on the microphone, "if anyone is mad at the gorilla....it was RUPP!" haha A sigh of relief! Such a good costume!

We then headed to Charlie's bar to see what was going on there, but no one was dressed up so we pretty much walked in and walked back out to head back down to Rupp's where we ened the night! Halloween was an ABSOLUTE BLAST this year! I will never forget it!!!

Demolition Derby!

Yesterday was the Outlaw Demo Derby at the Huron County Fairgrounds! Although it was completely freezing outside, I just couldn't miss the event! Brian had a few cars in the demo to represent his bar, "Rupp's Place" that were in the compact car series, and my good friend, Bart Bergstedt had a truck in the truck series. The event started about 45 mins later than what it was suppose to because we were waiting on North Central EMS to arrive. But after 45 minutes of waiting and still no EMS personel, they said that the Norwalk Firefighters were trained for emergency situations and would be able to handle anything that happened...So the show finally began!

The 3rd heat was when Brian's cars were up for show. The one was painted red, white, and blue with Rupp's Place written on the hood, back, and sides...it was an old Honda car, and the other car was a white Ford Escort painted red with Rupp's Place all over it. Both cars ran pretty well, the little Honda got cornered and smashed up against the wall and the caught on fire...so they stopped the derby so the driver(Raymond) could jump out and to check to make sure everything was ok! Not much longer after that the little white car got smacked from behind and completely smashed the car up. The front end was as good as gold, but with no wheels in the back...it was a little hard to go anymore. They both had good runs, but neither one won the series.

Up next was the truck series...Bart had an old Chevy pick up truck, at first they didn't have the right rims for the tires on the truck so they had to run home and change out the rims so they would fit the bigger tires. Bart ran pretty good but by the end of the derby his truck looked like it was going to collapse in between the cab and the bed liner!

Around 5pm everything was done and over with and I couldn't get to my car fast enough to get home and sit infront of the heater to thaw out my body before having to go to Volleyball. It was such a cold day...but so much fun!

Mo & Tony get hitched!

What a beautiful day it turned out to be for Mo and Tony! After all the crappy cold weather we have been having they were lucky to get a warm 70 degree wedding day in October! Everything was just gorgeous...along with the BRIDE! Mo has been one of my best friends for years, we used to do everything together! One summer all we did was play "pepper" out in my front yard...it was so great to find someone that was as active as me! It was like she was my clone, the clone I always wanted! I am so happy that she found an amazing person to spend the rest of her life with, and luckily, he is a fellow OSU graduate too! So the theme to the wedding was scarlet and gray, and they entered in the reception to the song O-H-I-O! Too Funny! But everyone was standing doing the famous hand signs with them!

The wedding itself was at St. Paul Catholic Church! That is the church I have always seen myself getting married in, otherwise I see myself on a beach! The wedding took about an hour and afterwards we all went outside for a group picture that Maureen and Tony requested. We had a few hours before the reception started so I went home to lay down for a bit! The reception was held at Mesenberg's in Huron. So I headed over a little early to make sure I could sit with Kelly's family, since they were really the only people I knew besides Mo's family!

When it was time to catch the flowers, my good friend Kelly was all about making sure she got the bouquet! So Mo throws it and all of a sudden you see 3 girls down on the ground fighting for the flowers, and who comes up with the bouquet? KELLY! She was so excited! The party continued on, but I was too tired and ready to go home.

Congrats MO and TONY! I know you will have a happy, healthy, and great Marriage together! I love you both!

Porsche Track Day!

Getting up at 3am to leave at 4:45am was a very early start for me but totally worth it! I went to Beaverun to race a Porche Carrera(997) S with Bill Gerken, a good family friend! It was a long drive there, 2 1/2 hours! But once we got there we went through tech and got all our registration taken care of before heading to class. It was freezing and rainy outside and they held the meeting outdoors when we were standing right outside a huge classroom...I didn't get that. But after the meeting we met up with our instructors, mine was Earl Seiler, he was a great guy and really knew what it was like for me because his daughter used to race when she was my age! So that put me at ease a little bit, but the rain was still a concern for me....I was not trying to wreck a $100,000 car! Bill told me that it would be fine, if you spin out...no bid deal. Yea, no big deal, I will just wreck a car that is worth more than my life!

As I headed off to class to learn a little bit about the track: turns, apexing, turn in, track out and flags...I was ready to hit the track, with my instructor, of course! With the track being a little wet I was more cautious and even more nervous. But as I got in the groove of the track, I was ok! When I came in I was all shooken up...a rush like no other, but yet still nervous. We ran into town to get a bite to eat(all they had was a gas station and a subway)! Once we got back we had another class to finish learning about all 12 turns and how turn 9, although nothing major is always over looked and most accidents occur on that turn. Then it was time to get back out on the track! I went back out with a little more courage to go faster! I think I really impressed my instructor because he kept saying Nice Kaci, Good Job and the best was when he said PERFECT run!

After my last run I was whooped and so tired, but knew I had a 2 1/2 drive home in nasty rainy weather. I was numb, due to the cold and just couldn't get warm. When we got home I was telling my mom and Pam about my biggy day and how I can't wait to do it again, but closer to home(Mid-Ohio) and in warm weather!

Aiden turns 2!!!

YAY! Aiden turned 2 years old yesterday! And, on Sunday Emily's parents hosted a birthday party for him, with catering from Tom's mom business~ Berardi's! Which is some of the best food ever...seriously! Aiden was so overwhelmed with all the people and all the presents that his face was to die for! He is one of the best kids I know(must be from great parenting)! His favorite toy was a Bob the Builder tractor that said "Oh Cool" and "You can do it!" Too funny.

When it was time to sing "Happy Birthday" we were all hoping that he would stick his hands in the cake and make a big mess, but all he did was stick one finger in the blue icing until they took the cake away from him before he got sick! I think Emily was the only one happy that he didn't make a mess...well, maybe MaryBeth too!

The party was filled with Family and Friends and it was so nice to catch up with Emily's Aunt Maggie, who took Emily and I to their Cottage in Michigan about 12 years ago! Wow, how time flies!

Later that night, I went over to Emily's house to see Aiden play with all his favorite toys and he was so cute in his new Elmo chair...he was just relaxing back in his chair!

We are OSU, We are OSU!!!!

Saturday was the big OSU(1) vs. Penn State(24) game! And again, we had a party to watch the game, but this time at Kellie and Scott Spettles house! They have a beautiful home in a great location in Norwalk! And of course, they had some great food! Especially the homemade Pizza rolls~ umm yum, Kellie! Everyone loves beer with football food!

At first we were a little nervous about the game because nothing was happening in the first 2 quarters, well except Penn State getting a 2nd chance to kick field goal because they called some dumb call against us. Anyways.... I did feel bad for Joe Paterno(Penn State Coach) because he was sick with the flu(which I had just a week ago). I can't believe a 79 year old man can run so fast off a football field! Finally after halftime OSU came out to show their stuff! Thank God....we were getting a little nervous! And since Kellie and Scott have DVR, we would rewind and watch the touchdowns over and over!! Kellie was particularly interested in rewinding the part where one of Penn State's players pants ripped and you could see his butt...she thought it was hilarious, but we all got a kick out of the broadcasters circling it on the screen! What a great game! YEA BUCKS, GO BUCKS!!

OSU vs. Texas

Well I realize it has been almost a week since the game, but I have been sick for that last few days and couldn't get off the couch. So my apologizes!

My good friends, Amy and Chad Winkleman had a party for the big game! The party started at 7pm for pregame and to start drinking before the game actually came on. They live in a fabulous appartment in uptown Norwalk, it's just huge and decorated so cute too! They had a great assortment of snacks to munch on while we watched the game. My favorite was the crab dip! Yummy!

Watching the game was so much fun because anytime something good happened we all went around the room giving high fives! I guess it was kinda because everyone was drunk and thought it was hilarious! No matter what room you were in, you could always see the game on a tv! Around half time all the guys and 2 girls left for The Moose Lodge, so the rest of us girls were just chit chatting and laughing(of course), mostly at Kellie because she was being goofy. That's when I got in trouble, I did a shot, a lemon drop. Now, if you know me, I don't do shots, plain and simple. So needless to say, that started it, after that I had a beer while we finished watching the game and screaming out the window O-H, I-O to everyone outside!

After the game we got everyone together to head back to The Moose Lodge, where I got into more trouble, all because of Kim(love you girl), she made me do 2 more shots of lemon drops and then a beer. So count it, 3 lemon shots and 2 beers. Yikes Kaci. It was fun in there, but they didn't have any music playing, and everyone wanted to dance. So we headed over to The OB, where we danced and sang a little! Kim has a great voice so we were all waiting to hear her sing! Around 1 am, we all trekked down to Rupp's Place to get our dance on! It was so packed in there, you couldn't even move on the dance floor. After having 2 more drinks, and getting burnt by a cigarette, I decided that I had waaay to much to drink and needed to go home! So as I was walking my little tush home, a great friend stopped at the top of my street to see if I wanted a ride home, I said yes, please! The walk seemed like it was taking forever...so a ride is just what I needed! Thanks Shane!

OH what a night it was! OSU GAME DAY ALWAYS A BLAST! GO BUCKS!!!

Sorry I couldn't post the pictures with the story below, but it just wouldn't let me...so here they are!

Mo's Bachelorette Party!

Last weekend was my good friend, Maureen Orth's bachelorette party at Put-In-Bay! We had to meet at Maria's house by 4pm, well needless to say, we are all girls and 3 girls getting ready in one bathroom, just doesn't happen. So Kelly, Lindsay, and I were about 15 mins late! Oops. Once we arrived, we all had a toast of Champagne to Maureen and her future life with Tony(fellow buckeye)! Shortly after arriving, we all packed into 2 cars and headed to Port Clinton to board the Jet Express! While waiting for the boat to come get us, we all had a drink, well most of the girls did a shot, and I had a strawberry daiquiri(to be shared with everyone becuase I couldn't drink it down in 5 minutes).

Finally the boat arrived and we got to be the first ones on the boat and ran to the very top to sit at the back of the boat so we could see everything, well we didn't think about the wind, and by the time we took the 22 minute boat ride there, everyones hair was destroyed. But, good thing Michelle was smart enough to bring a brush, so everyone passed it around to get all the tangles out of their hair! Our next stop was by the fountain to take a group picture! With 14 girls, it was a little hard to see everyones faces. We then walked to Mr. Ed's to eat dinner out on the patio and start the party! It took us about an hour and a half to eat dinner, but once dinner was over Mo had to put on her "Suck for a Buck" t-shirt to start making her money! I believe she made out that night...around $200! Good thing Lindsay Pigman was treasurer and taking care of all the money Mo made! Someone has to be responsible! We all went inside to dance to the band...they were excellent, but I don't have a clue who they were....sorry! We actually stayed at Mr. Ed's until 11ish before heading next door to another bar, and I am horrible, yet again because I don't have the slightest idea what the name of that bar was? But it didn't matter, I was with some of the best girls ever, celebrating Mo's finally days!

We had to be back to the boat by 11:45pm to head back to Port Clinton, well most of us made it(I was the first, of course)! And, 2 girls(Lindsay Hug and Maria Goodsite) were no where to be found. So we called their cell phones like crazy and got no answer, finally about 2 minutes before the boat left, here they come laughing and smiling, and saying see we told you we still had time!

When we got back to Maria's house, we started to munch out on Doritos, and Snyder pretzels with cheese(thanks to Kelly, they are my new favorite snack)! After laughing our butts off for about an hour and talking about old times...some of us (4 of us to be exact)started to fall asleep on the couch(it was a pretty big couch)! Around 3ish, I woke up to having small candy penis' being thrown at me, Kelly, and Maria! So as I sobered up, I decided to head back to Norwalk to get a good nights sleep! And indeed, I DID! I didn't even get out of bed the next day until 6:30 pm! But it was so nice to stay in bed all day and worth every minute of it!

~Friday Night Fun~

We had waaay to much fun this weekend! I didn't plan on drinking on Friday night, but Kelly came home for Mo's Bachelorette Party(sat. night) so we went out Friday night around town. We met the usuals up at the Dinky for a drink, then walked over to "The Rock" for story time to hear all about Andy McClain's life, and how he celebrated his 21st birthday by himself in Omaha?!?(Might be wrong on that, not sure). Well my mom and sister felt bad for him, so every so often they would say Happy 21st Birthday(cheers), and kept saying it until they got to 27(cheers)! It was actually kinda funny! After sitting at The Rock for an hour, we headed over to "The OB", nothing special was going on there, so we chit chatted with friends and drank a beer...Kelly and I were sharing beers because we both knew that the next night would put a hurting on us! We walked out the front door and ran into several people standing outside getting some fresh air. We then decided to head south to "Rupp's Place" to dance a little and drink some more beers(shared by Kell and I). I was talking to Donna(doorman's wife) about how nice it is in the bar since they put in fans and duct work all throughout the bar! It makes it much more comfortable all around the bar, especially on the dance floor! Around 2 am we decided to head home because Abby was a little tipsy. As we walked back to Kelly's car we saw Andy McClain sitting in his truck(passed out) with it running(instant DUI), so we went over and knocked on his window to let us take him home. He finally agreed after Nicki made him get out of his truck.

Once we got him home, he couldn't get his key in the door and we didn't want to leave him in fear that he would walk back to his truck to go get Taco Bell...so we waited 10 minutes for him to get in...in the meantime, Abby got out of the car and started walking to Nicki's house so then Nicki got out of the car to follow her. We stopped by Nicki's house to make sure she was in bed, but noooo, she was ready to go to McDonald's to get something to eat. So we took her and the brought her back home....safe and sound!

Josh Gracin!!!!

YAY! I absolutely love Country Music, and Josh Gracin put on a great concert at the Huron County Fair! I went to the concert with Abby and Macy Chapin! We first had to stop off and get the famous Berardi french fries before going to our box seats, so we were closer to him! He played some of his current songs, some of his songs that are coming out on his cd in February and some old songs that were from other artists!

Macy was up dancing and holding my hands to twirl her around the whole time! She is just too cute. Its really funny too because everything I do she has to do it too...I had my sun glasses on, so she put her moms sun glasses on!

We didn't stay for the whole concert because Macy was getting impatient and was ready to go get her sno cone before they closed. So we left the concert about a half hour early...which was ok with me because I was getting a little chilly...imagine that?

Beautiful Emmy!

This is for my beautiful, amazing, kind, loving best friend, Emily! She is my shoulder to cry on when I am sad, she is my light at the end of the tunnel when I can't see it. She inspires me to be the best person I can be, she believes in me and always tells me I will be successful and live the life I always wanted to live! She trusts in my judgement, she will always stand beside me, she is one of my biggest cheerleaders and because of her I am a better person! To my dear friend, I love you Emmy! Thanks for all the talks and walks and conversation's about life!

Love and Marriage

Wedding season is almost over....I can't believe how fast this summer has gone. It seems like this summer was the busiest wedding season I have ever had. And, I loved attending every wedding! Drinking, DANCING, getting together with old friends, and sharing the marriage of 2 people...what could be better? Last weekends bash, celebrating Kelly and Scott's wedding, was an absolute blast! I showed up a little late because they got married on a friday at the lake, and I had to work and then go see my mom and friends at a local bar really quick. So I showed up at the reception around 9:30 pm and everyone was already having a ball! I just love weddings because you get to see some friends that you haven't seen in a while and some that you just saw at the last wedding! I haven't seen my one good friend Dinah for a couple of years until this years wedding season started. Since then, I have seen her at every wedding and we have a good time talking and laughing!

The next wedding I have is for my good high school friend Maureen Orth and fellow Buckeye Anthony Botos! After Mo and Tony's wedding I am done until next wedding season! I feel like I sound like the Wedding Crashers, always talking about wedding season, but I must admit, I do love a good wedding!

Summer Nights!

Sometimes you just want to get out and have fun...well that was definitely my plan for Friday night. Work was long and stressful this past week, so on friday night the girls and I headed out for some fun! We hit up the local bars starting with The Dinky to check out Bill's new Porsche! It's a 2007 Cayman in the color yellow, oh lordy how I love his cars! We then decided to head over to The Office Bar, they were dead so we walked in one door and right out the other to head to the Shamrock. They were pretty busy so we sat with some friends and played cards(I watched). After a while they started to die down so we headed back over to The O.B. and by then it was packed. Abby left about 20 minutes later because she had to work the next morning, and then Nicki left around 1:30. Well I was not ready to go home and go to bed, so I stayed to talk to my friends. Around 2:15 I headed home(walking). The shoes that I wore that night where not the best shoes to be walking a mile home in. I am still paying for it today. All I remember from the night was cracking up laughing and most of the pictures prove it! I had a great night out with my friends in good ol'e Norwalk!

When you think of me~

This is a new song that I absolutely LOVE...It's basically about a guy that lies to a girl...and she wants him to know that when he hears/thinks of Tim McGraw, he should think of her. And when she comes back, she leaves a letter on his doorstep saying when you think of Tim Mcgraw~ I hope you think of me!

You said the way my blue eyes shined,
Put those Georgia stars to shame that night
I said: "That's a lie"
Just a boy in a Chevy truck,
That had a tendency of gettin' stuck,
On backroads at night
An' I was right there beside him all summer long
An' then the time we woke up to find that summer'd gone

But when you think: Tim McGraw,
I hope you think my favorite song
The one we danced to all night long:
The moon like a spotlight on the lake
When you think happiness,
I hope you think: "That little black dress"
Think of my head on your chest,
An' my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw,
I hope you think of me

September saw a month of tears,
An' thankin' God that you weren't here,
To see me like that
But in a box beneath my bed,
Is a letter that you never read,
From three summers back
It's hard not to find it all a little bitter sweet,
An' lookin' back on all of that, it's nice to believe:

When you think: Tim McGraw,
I hope you think my favorite song
The one we danced to all night long:
The moon like a spotlight on the lake
When you think happiness,
I hope you think: "That little black dress"
Think of my head on your chest,
An' my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw,
I hope you think of me

And I'm back for the first time since then:
I'm standin' on your street,
An' there's a letter left on your doorstep,
An' the first thing that you'll read:

Is: "When you think: Tim McGraw,
"I hope you think my favorite song"
Some day you'll turn your radio on,
I hope it takes you back to that place
When you think happiness,
I hope you think: "That little black dress"
Think of my head on your chest,
An' my old faded blue jeans
When you think Tim McGraw,
I hope you think of me
Oh, think of me,
Mmmm

You said the way my blue eyes shined,
Put those Georgia stars to shame that night
I said: "That's a lie"

Miss Universe

18-year-old Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza from Puerto Rico was crowned Sunday night as Miss Universe 2006.

Zuleyka Rivera Mendoza shared a nervous emotional hug with first runner-up, Kurara Chibana of Japan, moments before the winner was announced, then clasped her hands to her mouth in amazement as her name was called.

She beamed as the crown was placed on her head but briefly fainted after a post-pageant news conference. She quickly recovered after being given liquids, said Miss Universe spokeswoman Esther Swan.

Rivera, who was wearing a dress made entirely of metal chains, had been standing under hot stage lights for some time when she began to topple over. Someone caught her as she fell.

"I always had faith and confidence in myself, but I never knew I was going to win," Rivera, speaking in Spanish from the stage, said in her first remarks as Miss Universe.

The winner, who is from coastal town of Salinas, said she would continue the pageant's mission of promoting awareness and education about AIDS and HIV.

"I want to tell those people there's always problems in life, but there's always possibilities to improve things," she said.

Miss USA Tara Conner was the contest's fourth runner-up. Also finishing in the top five were second runner-up Lauriane Gillieron of Switzerland and third runner-up Lourdes Arevalos of Paraguay.

Conner was vying to become the first U.S. winner since Brook Lee in 1997. The Kentucky native wore a red-white-and-blue jockey outfit and cracked a whip during the opening parade of nations. Several of the contestants sported costumes featuring colorful native dress, including feathers, sequins, fur, massive headpieces and, in the case of Miss Japan, a Samurai sword.

Carson Kressley of TV's "Queer Eye," who provided commentary along with 2004 Miss USA Shandi Finnessey. Opera singer Vittorio Grigolo and Latin singer Chelo provided musical performances.

The pageant began with the top 20 finalists' names being announced early in the show. Then their scores were discarded and competition began again, with the field gradually narrowed throughout the night.

As soon as the final 20 had been selected, they immediately strutted across the stage in skimpy two-piece bikinis for the swimsuit competition.

After being narrowed to the final 10, the competition moved to evening gowns, with the smiling contestants walking across the stage to music provided by Grigolo.

Last year's winner, Natalie Glebova of Canada crowned Rivera with a diamond-and-pearl-studded headpiece valued at $250,000.

"My year as Miss Universe has meant more to me than I can express," said Glebova, who began her reign with a trip to South Africa where she publicly took an HIV test.

"I have traveled the world on behalf of various HIV/AIDS organizations, promoting education, research and legislation, and I walk away from this experience feeling like I truly made an impact."

"Access Hollywood" host Nancy O'Dell and actor-singer Carlos Ponce were emcees of the 55th annual pageant, broadcast live on NBC.

Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band

On Saturday afternoon my friend Abby, her daughter Macy, and myself went over to Huron to watch a tribute band to Jimmy Buffett. We showed up a little late because we stopped off at the Pizza House for dinner. When we did arrive at the Huron Boat basen, they were packed, luckily we found a few seats to sit in....the reason no one was sitting in them was because the speakers where in the way of seeing the whole band. At least we got to see the lead singer singing the songs! People would get up and dance or do a chain around the seats! It was actually quit amusing to watch everyone!

As I was on my way home my friend Kelly called to head out to her friend Sarah's house for a party. So I got home and waited for Kelly to finish getting ready and pick me up. The party was about 20 minutes away from Norwalk and out in the boondocks, but it was a great location, they have a pond and a huge yard to have bon fires! We stayed there until 1am and then decided to head home because Kelly had to get up early in the morning and head back to Columbus for work.

On Sunday, my mom, her friend Pam, my sister, and I went over to the beach for a day of laying out. It was so hot out that I couldn't even get out of the water, it was just too refreshing! Just being at the beach reminded us of the days when we were younger and would spend everyday at the boat, jet skiing and swimming all day long...ohhh those were the days. Now the boat sits in storage and the jet ski is gone. Someday, I hope to have a jet ski and my own boat to go out with friends like we used to!

Dog Days...

Today is a big day for my little boy, Charlie. I dropped him off at the Vet Clinic this morning to get neutered, I know, I know, I'm a bad mama, but he is out of control and hopefully this will stop him from humping everything and help him from being so hyper all the time. He did very well when we were in the little room to get him weighed and checked out. He weights 7.2 lbs now, he is getting so big compared to when I got him 10 months ago and he was only 3 lbs. They said they would call me around the noon hour to let me know how he is doing and when I can pick him up. I think he did so well at the vet office because he was ready for his morning nap and too tired to play around. It is so weird to be at home all day without him right next to me, and kinda upsetting. I am hoping to pick him up at 5, if everything goes well!

My moms dog, Chloe, just got back from the Vet Clinic yesterday after spending the night there because she was ill again. I went to go visit her yesterday and she was in much higher spirits then Tuesday when she was at home...she didn't eat, but would constantly be throwing up, so my mom came home from work to take her in. Thank god she didn't have pneumonia again. I guess she was just dehydrated and sick. So they hooked her up to IV's again and had to keep her there until she ate and drank without throwing up. She is back at home now, but still not eating or drinking anything, so I will have my eye on her all day while I wait for Char to come home!

4th of July Weekend!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend, most people got an extended weekend with having monday and tuesday off, so I hope you spent this time with friends and family like I did!

On Saturday my aunt and uncle had their annual 4th of July party out at their house. I had a great time sitting there with my family and friends just talking for hours and hours and cracking up at stories everyone was telling! And, the weather was just perfect, I mean it was in the 80's throughout the night! Around 10 pm my sister and I left the party to head over to the Fireman's Festival in Greenwich to see some old high school friends play softball. We had only planned on staying for a little bit, but we ran into Tara(a girl on our v-ball team) and we ended up staying for a few hours talking with her and her husband. Around 1 am the rain started to come down so we ran back to the car to get out of there and head back into town. We then stopped at one of the local bars to see some of our friends before calling it a night.

On the 4th of July, I did my annual bike ride with my aunt, uncle, and cousin to the parade. Unfortunately, this year the weather wasn't as good as the years past, we had rain a few times in the parade, nothing bad just some sprinkles. After the parade I rode home and laid down to watch a movie because I didn't feel to good. Around 6ish we started our cookout, which is also an annual event on the 4th. I had to hurry up and eat because some friends and I were going on the Good Times Cruise to watch the fireworks at Cedar Point. We got lucky and had really nice weather while we were on the boat because right before we were leaving Norwalk, it was starting to rain again. We could actually see about 4 different places setting off there fireworks, so we got quit the show! We got back on land around 10:30 pm and pulled into Norwalk around 11 pm. I was exhausted and not feeling too good, so I couldn't wait to get to bed! The weekend seemed forever long, but I am not complaining! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday!

Happy Birthday Aunt Karen!!!

Last friday was my Aunt Karen's 50th birthday bash. They had a party for her at Friendly Corners(local bar and restaurant). When I finally showed up, everyone had already eaten and started drinking, so I had to jump in quickly to catch up. She had an amazing birthday cake. I mean absolutely delightful!

After sitting there for a few hours talking with her friends and co-workers, we went up to the front room where 2 guys were singing and playing there guitars for some musical enjoyment! They were really good, and a guy(Jeremy) in the crowd got up to sing "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi to finish them off! Unfortunately I don't remember the guys names, but they were entertaining!

Around midnight we left Friendly Corners to hit up The Office Bar, where we ran into a bunch of people! My favorite person to run into was good friend and fellow birthday sharer, Shaun Landphair. He is only 6 hours older than me, but he likes to make that a point! Whatever floats his boat! Time just flew by while we were there but we had to venture out to the other bars to see who was out and about. We headed down to Charlie's bar, which just a few weeks back was flooded with water. It was actually pretty busy in there considering I heard they didn't have the business they used to have. We were only there for a short time before heading home to go to bed!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAM FELL!!!! I LOVE YOU!

Graduation Party

First of all I want to apologize for neglecting my blog. It's just when summertime comes I hate to be inside any longer than I have to. But, none the less I will continue to keep blogging!

Last weekend I had a party at my aunt and uncle's house to celebrate my graduation from The Ohio State University. Thank god we had a GORGEOUS day, which was unexpected since our town was flooded the whole week leading up to the party. So friday night and saturday morning was all about setting up and making sure the decorations where just how I wanted them, because after all it was "MY DAY!" Little joke! After rushing around all day long, I had 1 hour to get ready before I had to be back at my aunt and uncle's house to get the party under way. We had a pretty good turnout of people with considering the damage that was done around the town and people trying to clean everything up. My good friend Emily had her little boy Aiden with her and he has no fear of anything and poor Emily was running after him non-stop. I ran after him for a little bit, but I obviously don't have enough of me to be in 4 places at once!

A little later in the night we started playing Beer Pong, but the game was moving a little too slow and we didn't get as many games in as we had hoped. Plus, my newcomer uncle beat me, and then his wife(also a newcomer) beat him in the end, how that happens is beyond me! We also planned on getting a basketball game or volleyball game going but I think it became too cold and everyone was a little drunk to play. Around 12pm the party was coming to a close and I was quite tired so I didn't mind heading home to my nice comfy bed.

Thanks to all the people that came to my party to celebrate my long awaited graduation from college! It has been a long road and now I am ready for my Career to begin! Cross your fingers that I get this JOB!!!

Flood of '69 Returns

Back in 1969 the Dam broke in Norwalk and the streets of Norwalk were flooded. And, as history tends to repeat itself, it indeed happened again on June 21 & 22, 2006. On Tuesday night, we had horrible storms rolling into town and the tornado siren went off, but luckily no tornado touched down. The next morning I couldn't believe what happened, several streets were closed because they were flooded and business' and houses where 6 feet under water! Trying to drive around town was almost impossible, it took me 45 minutes to get 3 streets over because the streets that were open were completely packed with cars trying to get where ever they were going. Plus, people were out walking around and taking pictures of the flooded streets! Also, a tree fell on my dad's house again. The last bad storm his neighbor's tree fell on the garage and did some damage, and this time his own tree fell on the back of the house putting a hole in the roof and ripping his back deck off. Unforunately he had just left town for work and my sister called to tell him about the damage.

Over 800 homes and business' were damaged by the water. The city of Norwalk was also afraid that the dam was going to bust and wash out the town, but luckily it held back and everyone is in the process of cleaning up the mess. The crazy thing is just 1 street way 6 houses were under water and we managed to stay completely dry. The town is trying to help out the victims as best they can. One of my high school teachers' houses was under water(Mr. Douglas) and he made it on the news today talking about his damage, he lives one street away from me.

We have had news coverage from all over the state and nation in out little town. At least we can say we are a known town now!

Kentucky Speedway

Yesterday my sister and I drove 4 hours to the Kentucky Speedway to see my dad, meet Monty Bailey(Motorsports Manager for Dollar General Racing), and watch the race from the Pits! It started out as a very early day for me, but I was still excited to get to the race. Of course we couldn't decide who's car we were going to drive down because I didn't want to take my Jeep because its a gas hog, and the mustang needs new back brakes, and my sister didn't want to take her car because she just didn't want to. It all boiled down until the last minute and Nicki showed up at her house and my mom said so who's driving and Nicki said I guess I am but not by choice! Yes! That means I didn't have to take one of my cars! And, I knew Nicki wasn't going to drive so I drove down there which was completely fine by me because I LOVE to drive, especially her Lincoln LS!

The road trip was a long one, I am not going to lie, but we made it there in exactly 4 hours, which was amazing because everyone wanted to drive so slow and we made a pit stop in Columbus. Once we got there we had to go to the Credentials building and get our in field parking permit and pit passes. My dad drove us where we needed to go and then...let the show begin!

My dad walked us around the track and introduced us to about 200 people at the race, we don't remember them after we meet them but its always nice to meet new people. The weather was just about unbearable yesterday, and I love hot weather but with the heat the track's temperature was 140 degrees. Wow, we were cooking! Finally, I got to meet Mr. Monty Baily, who I had a interview with yesterday to work with Burney Lamar(#77 Dollar General car), and it went great, he said he was very interested and would like to keep in touch with me and go over more detailed stuff about the job! The position won't open until the 4th quarter, which is around September or October, but I am really excited about this opportunity! After meeting with Monty, I was introduced to Burney Lamar(who is the nicest, down to earth guys you will ever meet, not cocky just extremely pleasant to be around), and we jumped on the golf cart and headed off to his signing booth. Fans just go crazy to get their shirts signed or pictures take with a racer! After that was over, we headed back to the track to watch the time trials, now I was exhausted and just wanted to sit down in some air conditioning. So we stopped off to get a bite to eat and then rested for a little bit in the truck before the race started!

Since the race didn't start until 8pm, the heat was alot more enjoyable, it was about 87 degrees outside and the track cooled off a bit too! So we took our positions behind the #5 Lowe's car(Kyle Busch) because that put us right beside the path to pull into victory lane! I also got some great pictures of the cars rolling in and out for their pit stops! Unfortunately we didn't stay until the end of the race because we wanted to beat the traffic out, so we took off at 175 laps. We got back in the car and I drove for about an hour and a half before I had to pull over, I was just too tired to keep my eyes focused, so my sister took over and drove the rest of the way home! Safe and sound, we pulled into town around 3 am! Fun road trips with my sister~ can't get any better than that!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD!!

GRADUATION DAY!

On Sunday, June 11, 2006 I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Resource Management. My mom, sister, and Gram Cousino all came down the share my special day with me! And, to my surprise they were early! I asked them to leave Norwalk no later than 9am because I also had to move home that day, well the left at 8am and we loaded up my mom's TrailBlazer and my Jeep with as much stuff as we could! After loading everything up I had to go up to my bare room and get ready for my big day!

When we got to campus it was absolutely crazy. People everywhere, no where to park and I became worried that my family wouldn't be able to sit in the proper section of the stadium that I told them too. And, silly me, I didn't take my cell phone with me to call them to find out where they were sitting. So when I walked in the stadium I was looking in the wrong section, so when I got to my seat I called my mom from Cathy's phone(girl sitting next to me). It took a few phone calls but I finally got through and they told me to look to my left and up in section C! There they were, right in front waving at me! The ceremony went faster than what I anticipated, which was a very good thing! This was the largest graduating class in Ohio State History, I believe it was close to 7,500 students! The weather was great, not hot, but definately not cold~ just perfect!

After I got my dipolma, I walked right out of the stadium to meet up with my family to take pictures together! YAY! I didn't hang around too long because my feet were killing me and I wanted out of my shoes as soon as possible! So we headed back to the house to load up the truck and get me out of my clothes! I was a little bummed out because I didn't get to say goodbye to any of my roommates, so I guess I will have to make a trip back down to see them all!

Last weekend at OSU

This is my last weekend as a senior at Ohio State University! I am sad and extremely excited all at the same time. I will miss my girls so much and can't believe how much fun I had with them this year. Yesterday we had graduation rehearsal and it was about an hour and a half, but felt like 4 hours. And, the real graduation is expected to last 3- 3 1/2 hours so I can only imagine how long that is going to really be. I am just hoping for sunny weather because today has not been very nice or warm.

Last night we had a farewell party for 47 E. 12th and had a great time! At first we didn't think very many people were going to show up, and then night fell and people were coming in from every direction. It was kinda funny because groups of people would walk in and we would just look at each other and ask if anyone knew who they were? But, that didn't matter because we had 5 kegs that needed to be drank. Even with all the people that showed up we still have a keg left.

Today, we had to say goodbye to some of our roommates, the Snyder sister's, Courtney, Kelly, and Natalie. They are definitely the life of every party, so to see them leave was a little sad, but they kept it light and fun! I will miss all 10 of my roommates and hope everyone has a great summer and I will be back to visit!

I am not sure what is going on with loading pictures, but as soon as I figure it out the images will appear!

Happy Birthday MOM!

Yesterday(June 7th) was my mom's birthday! Since I was home tuesday night and I knew I wouldn't be up by the time she left for work, so I left her a little birthday message! I would say her age, but she might get really mad! Most women would! I am not sure why that is, but I guess its normal when everyone gets older they don't want to tell the whole world how old they are.

When my mom got off work, she came home so Nicki and I could sing Happy Birthday to her before she went to dinner with friends and co-workers. I unfortunately couldn't join them because I had to work until 8pm. Once work was over for me, I met up with everyone at The Dinky to share my mom's birthday with her! My mom must have had 1 too many drinks last night because she was still in bed when I got up at 8:30 this morning. But, I guess that was kinda a good thing because then we were able to get my graduation invitations addressed and mailed out!

I apologize for not putting any pictures up, but there is something wrong with Blogger because it will not allow pictures to load. I will work on this so everyone has something to look at!

2 weddings in 1 day!

Saturday was a very busy day for me. I had two weddings that day, one was my cousin Lea's and the other was my friend Amy's wedding. The day started out smoothly, I woke up played with Charlie, went to Wal-Mart, washed my sister's car, then went running(where I ran into Chad, one of the grooms, as he was getting ready to leave for his wedding). Once I got home and showered I was in a rush to get ready because my grandma wanted to get to the church early, so I hustled along to be ready by 3:15. Lea and Tom's wedding was absolutely beautiful, they got married in a small church in Wakeman, OH. When she walked down the aisle I started to tear up, and lost it when they were reading their vows. I think I lost it when Tom started to get emotional while saying his vows and then Ellis (Lea's daughter) was crying so I couldn't hold back anymore. Wedding are just an emotional time, seeing two people come together in love! Lea's dress was unbelievably gorgeous, it was definitely something I didn't expect her to wear, but she was amazing! Then we headed to the reception for food and fun with my family!

The reception was held at the Expo center in Norwalk. It was huge on the inside, well I guess it would have to be to hold 300 people. My aunt and uncle couldn't stay long because my cousin Rachel had a concert with her new band. While at the reception I became the Designated Driver for my sister and Abby. Which wasn't a problem with me because I am used to being the DD for them.

After a while my grandma was ready to head home and Nicki and Abby were ready to head out to Amy's parents house for her wedding reception. They live out in the country and had the yard all light up with candles and white lights. Then they had a huge tent with a dance floor and tables. It was a little chilly outside, but the party was a blast because I got to see some friends I haven't seen since high school and others I just saw last weekend at Jessi's wedding! The one thing I am upset about is, I never got a picture of Amy and Chad together. How horrible am I? But, I do wish them the very best in life! Amy has an amazing personality that lights up a room when she walks in, and Chad is a very nice, down to earth guy with a great sense of humor. They compliment each other extremely well!

When we left Amy and Chad's reception, Nicki and Abby were not about to go home and go to bed, instead they wanted to hit up the local bars! So, with me being the DD, I took them to the bars and when they wanted to be picked up, I came back to get them. It's always a good night with Nicki and Abby!

Memorial Day Weekend

After a big day on Saturday I was ready to relax and enjoy the weather. Well I was somewhat mistaken, I forgot that I told my grandma that I would help her rip up her carpet because she is having pergo flooring put in. Even though every part of my body was sore from playing volleyball on saturday, I made sure I kept my promise to her! Ripping up the carpet wasn't the hard part, it was tearing up the under layer of padding because it was glued down to the concrete and had to be scrapped up. After a couple of hours of tearing up the carpet, we called it a day to head outside to soak up some sun!

It was 90 degrees outside, so I headed over to my best friend Emily's parents house to lay out by the pool. It was so nice to be by the water so if I got too hot I could just get in the water. The water was a little chilly, only 72 degrees, but with the heat outside, it was refreshing! Emily's little boy, Aiden, just loves the water, he sat on the steps and splashed around in the water! He is just too precious!

Later that night Emily had some friends over at her house to just hang out and talk about life and old times. It's always a great time to reminisce about our younger years and share a ton of laughs! It's the little times like these that make great friendships last a lifetime!

Monday(Memorial Day) I went back over to Emily's parents house for more pool time before our annual Memorial Day cookout! I planned on helping my mom finish planting the flowers, but I was just exhausted, so I went upstairs to lay down and take a quick nap, which turned into 2 hours! Oops, I must have needed the sleep! When I woke up, no one was home so I headed to Emily's house to hang out for a little bit before having to pack my clothes to head back to Columbus with my baby boy, Charlie, so all the girls could see him one more time before the year is over! He is only here for a few days because Wednesday we will be heading back to Norwalk for a day or so.

Congrats Jessi and Paul

Saturday couldn't have been more beautiful outside to celebrate a wedding and to play in a sand volleyball tournament. Saturday came very early for me, up at 6 to pack my bags for the weekend at home, drive 2 hours, play 7 hours of volleyball in 90 degree weather, then rush home to get ready for a wedding, which I might add I got ready in 45 minutes and that never happens. When Lea came to pick me up, we had 10 minutes to get to the church and boy did we make it just in time! The ceremony was short and sweet(just the way I like them). As the bride and groom walked out, we did the traditional throwing of bird seed and poor Jessi, she had it in her mouth, hair, down her dress, just all over the place.

Right after the wedding we headed to "The Colonade" for the reception. They had 2 guys fly in from Las Vegas to decorate the room and it was just gorgeous. They used lots of ballons(Jessi's family own's Maple City Rubber, a ballon factory)and it looked so amazing!

It was so great to see all of my friends that I haven't seen in a long time(some since high school). We got out on the dance floor and didn't stop until they shut us down. After the party was over there, we all headed back into town to hit up the Shamrock. I was only there for about 30 minutes and I was ready to crash. So I called my mom to come and get Brianne and I so we didn't have to walk. I don't think I could have walked anyways, my feet were killing me. We made it home around 1:30 and I was out as soon as I laid my head on my pillow. It was a long day, but so much fun, and yes, I would do it all over again!

Jessi and Paul I wish you the best in your marriage. You are both wonderful and caring people that deserve the love of a lifetime! I love you both so much and thank you for being my friend! Oh, and thanks for letting me be the third wheel at Cedar Point two years ago!

Game On!

I know I said that I wasn't playing in the volleyball tournament on Saturday in Norwalk because I have a wedding that day, well I am going to do both now. The wedding doesn't start until 5 pm, so I can play volleyball during the day and since it starts at 9 am we should be done by 3-4ish and then rush home to get ready for the wedding and reception. Plus I received a phone call earlier in the week from a guy I played with at another tournament and asked if I wanted to get a team together, well I couldn't say no because we are going to have a great team! And, hopefully we win the tournament! The weather is suppose to be in the 80's so I am looking forward to getting a tan too! The only bad thing is there is another Gangsta Party Friday night that I just can't miss, but then that means I have to get up at 6 am and drive home to play a full day of volleyball and then go to a wedding and reception. Whew, I am going to be exhausted Saturday night. But, it will all be worth it!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Sunday morning I got up at 8 am and since I knew no one else would be up I picked up my room and watched more episodes of season 1 of The O.C. and then painted my nails waiting for the Easton mall to be open. Around noon I headed to Easton to find a dress for Jessi's wedding this weekend. I wanted a specific kind of dress...black and white pok-a-dot, well I actually found two dresses that I liked and couldn't decide so I bought both of them so I have the girls help me decide. One is a halter dress that is tight fitting with a slit up the front and falls at my knees and the other is low cut with a black silk bow that goes around the front and is a little more flowy and also falls at the knees. I know the way I am describing them probably isn't a very good visual, but I promise they are super cute!

When I came home from the mall I was going to watch the cavs game, but instead went to West Campus and played some sand volleyball with a group of people. There is a sand volleyball tournament this weekend in Norwalk but unfortunately I can't play because I have a wedding to attend. If the guys were smart, they would have split up the girls, but instead they let us play on the same team, so we WON! Of course! We played 5 games to 25 and won 3 of the 5! It was so nice to get out and play, but my back is a little sore today. It's all in a days work!

Long Weekend!

The last 2 days seemed extremely long. Friday night the Smaltz's had a party for Stephen(who was gone last quarter traveling around on a ship). Even though it was a little chilly outside and my toes were numb, and a fight broke out over and over, and Kyle was lost at the fair grounds (so we had to go pick him up from the cops)it was still a great time that night! I also got to meet one of KTK's roommates that night, Mike Croce, and when I asked how he spelled his last night he forgot the "e" at the end, but that's ok, I will blame it on the alcohol! Hi Mike!

On Saturday I got up at 7:30 to head home. I had to take more things home for summer, I am bummed that I have to move home but I already promised to sub-lease my room out and it will save me a bunch of money! I also wanted to put on my new tail lights on my Jeep. I feel like when I go home I do so much running around that I don't get as much accomplished as I should. So I did some yard work and then my good friend Road(it's a nickname) came over to help me put on my new tail lights, then I had him drive my Jeep so I could follow him in his truck to make sure that they all work properly! They look fabulous by the way! I will post a picture when I get one! After that we went to Friendly Corner's for a quick bite to eat and then back home to do more work!

Earlier in the day my sister took my dog on the Heart walk around the reservoir which really tired him out for the rest of the day. When I was trying to clean my room and get it ready for when I move home, Charlie laid down and just crashed, but if I walked out of the room he would jump up to follow me!

I headed back to C-bus around 7 pm and it seemed like the longest drive of my life. But, I had to get back because there was a 12 keg party at the Matt's house(it was Matt Z's birthday). They had a band playing and a huge back yard to hang out in. It was so nice to be able to walk around and not have to squeeze your way through everyone! Well the kegs ran out around 1:30ish, so I just decided to head home and go to bed. I was extremely exhausted from driving and running around all day, so my bed was amazing! I laid down and was out about 10 minutes later!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all the mother's had a fabulous day and spent the day with the ones they love. My sister and I took my mom and grandma out to eat yesterday to celebrate mother's day, so we went up to The Cheesecake Factory at Crocker Park. We got there at noon and still had a 35 minute wait. It was a popular place to eat! After lunch we went shopping and luckily the sun was trying to come out so we didn't have to walk around outside in the rain. We all had a great time and always love to get together!

All throughout the day my dad kept calling and asking what we were doing, so I would say eating or shopping or driving home. And he said well just don't forget to go see grandma Fell at 5pm at Friendly Corner's. My dad sounded a little down and I felt bad because I was thinking he was stuck in North Carolina with no one to spend the day with. We got home from Crocker Park at 4, so I finished laundry and went over to my best friend Emily's house to drop off her Mother's day card and to see her little boy Aiden! I couldn't stay long because I had to get to FC's. My sister and I headed down to FC and said hi to grams and all the family and as we were sitting there my sister goes " That's the shirt we got dad!" I said what, and looked towards the door and go "OH MY GOD, you knew he was in town?" So I waited for him to surprise grandma before getting up to give him a hug! My gram was so excited to see him because he told her that he couldn't make it home! Then I jumped up and ran over to him! Luckily my dad will be in town all week long so I will get to see him more on Wednesday when I go home! All in all, the day was a great family day! I hope everyone had a great day!
